Hello all my friends and welcome back!
I am trying to do more than two things at the same time now (sounds familiar to any of you?) so my post will be very short and to the point :)
I want to share with you what might be a good activity for the upcoming days in March for those little ones and maybe up to 3rd grade if you still do rhyming :)

I have a UNIT SAMPLE for FREE! I have a memory game for rhyming words. This game can be played by 2 or more than 2 students on their own or you can even use it during small groups if that's one of the focus lesson you have. I can think about a whole class demonstration as well if it's needed. Nevertheless, I think this simple and yet fun game can be a good fit for your class! :)

After I created a sample, I knew I had to do a whole THEME UNIT. So, here is my unit with different centers for both Math and ELA/SLAR.
Both of the packets (Spanish and English) contains the following centers:
[1] Nouns vs. Verbs: instructions, 20 cards, answer key and activity sheet to give as an independent activity or use as an assessment.
[2] ABC order, 15 cards, instructions, answer key, and sheet to record their work.
[3] Writing Craftivity: Write about your favorite birthday and create a fun birthday cake!

Math:
[1] Fishy Probability: Mini cards to laminate and cut, instructions, Probability sheets, and Probability answer sheet.
[2] I knew it was true: addition and subtraction cards (with regrouping and without regrouping), instructions, 20 cards, answer key, and activity sheet to give as an independent activity or use as an assessment.
[3] Hooray for Arrays!: 20 cards (10 sets), instructions, and recording sheet to show work or use as an assessment.

Before I let you all go, I wanted to share with you quickly just an oldie, but a goodie activity I did with my students before. Because we are not allowed to create anything relate to Seuss or anything like that to put it up on a selling website, I decided to make something with the products they provide at their own website! I got the patterns from Seussville on this link: http://www.seussville.com/Educators/educatorClassroomResources.php?id=printables#6 

They have tons of different sheets and activities you can use :) I used the "Elephant Ears" sheet from there. The face of the elephant I just kinda drew it at that moment, but again, because we can't create anything to share, I don't even think I saved it (so sorry!). To make the dust speck, I got a bunch of green pipe cleaners and some sparkly pom-poms. My students colored the elephant and they cut and paste true/false statements based on the book. I think they would have came up better if we only used gray construction paper, but I really wanted them to do some coloring and make these their own, instead of just cutting and gluing. Here is a picture of what they looked like! I was really happy how they turned out :)

Anchor Chart for Math, Temperature, and a Science Unit About the Sun

Hello everyone and welcome back!
Today I want to share with you a unit and some activities I was doing with my kiddos around this time when I taught 3rd grade. This is an anchor chart for Math and a unit for Science that you could do at any grade, so stay with me :)
I only had the chance to take a picture of the anchor chart I prepared for a rotation (we started boot camps for STAAR) that had to do with patterns on a table. At 3rd grade we look more than just addition, but my students were used to just look on the side. So I created this anchor chart to show them and remind them (for the 40th time, sounds familiar?) to always look both ways when finding a pattern on the table.

During instruction time, we got a chance to talk about temperature. We did a quick foldable which contained a thermometer and the importance of finding the scale. We only did thermometer three days because we also had to review for our unit test. 

In Science, we had different activities and important facts to learn about the Sun.

The first day I showed several videos and we did a short/simple booklet containing facts about the Sun. This is a very simple booklet that you can use at any grade level. I used them for 3rd grade, but I had a teacher in 1st grade who also used it and she was really happy with this unit :)

         

 

The second and third day we did a model of how the earth rotates around the Sun, and the Moon around the Earth. We also did an experiment to represent the Solar Flares. Very simple demo and the kids LOVED IT!

I apologize for my loud voice and my accent! ;) lol

We have been watching videos and seeing presentations about the Sun. So the last days we did a small craft about the Sun. My students created this cute craft and had to cut the different Sun's rays. There were about 12 rays that were mixed up with TRUE and FALSE facts about the Sun. They had to glue only the TRUE facts on the Sun and discard the FALSE facts. I also included blank sun's rays in case for those younger grades that are not at that level yet :)

Solar System Unit PLUS A FREE SAMPLE!

Hello friends and welcome back!
I am very, very excited to publish this new post. I have to be honest with y'all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE to teach about the solar system! I was always disappointed in second grade when we just taught about the moon. So when I was told I was moving up with my second graders to third grade, I was very happy and nervous. However, everything turned into more excitement when I found out that I was going to be teaching Math and Science. The solar system has always been something that amazed me and it made giggle (nerd!!)
So with all that said, this is a very special and close to my heart unit. It took me FOR EVER to finish this unit to put it up on my TPT, I always had a little bit of here and there parts, but never really finished to have a whole unit, but I'm excited it's finally done! :)

I used a lot of these activities in my classroom. The focus on this unit is the solar system, but if you don't teach it, check out the activities for Neil Armstrong, Sally Ride, and the Alien writing... those might be fun to do for other subjects! :)

REMEMBER that most of my products (if not all), come in both English and Spanish. So this is not an exception :) Both English and Spanish units contain the following activities:

1.Neil Armstrong and Sally Ride posters for both beginning or high levels (poster designed for

teacher).

2.Neil Armstrong and Sally Ride foldables for both beginning or high levels.

3.Planets tri-foldable with labels: Planets, outer vs. inner planets, and planets’ characteristics

(including links to find information).

4.Information posters for each planet.

5. Foldable to write information about each planet.

6.Vocabulary matching cards, including fill in the blank cards to keep in their interactive journal.

7.If I was an astronaut (both boy and girl) coloring foldable.

8.Word search sheet for both beginning or high levels.

9.Cross word puzzle.

10.Alien writing craftivity based on a chosen planet.

Do you still feel the love??? Part II Linky Party with Freebies!

As I promised my friends, I am back with some goodies for Valentine's day!! :)

So after Mr. Heart, I felt pretty cool, but this year I made a HUGE mistake... wait for it, you'll understand what I mean.... 

Everything started with my husband and I reorganizing our home office, it needed A LOT of organization. We had great and new furniture, but we still had so much stuff that needed to be put away and even thrown away... So our goal for this new year and before baby boy comes, was to finish this home office. So we went to Ikea (another huge mistake) and I'm happy to say we are almost done with it! We are so happy we are almost there in less than a month! Sooooo with all these ideas from Ikea and Pinterest, I decided to go to Hobby Lobby (for those that don't have one, this is like a Michael's store or a craft store if you must know), you see now what I meannnnn??? I just went to get some mini jars to storage small erasers and small items that needed to be away from my "Pollita" (did I mention my desk drawers are completely empty because she likes pulling everything out??).

But then I said to myself, "why don't you stop by the scrapbooking papers to see what's new? You are JUST GONNA SEE!" YEAH RIGHT!!!!

I found these AMAZING pattern paper that I HAD to buy!!!! Don't you agree with me???

So after a few hours thinking what cute things I can do with these papers, I thought about a real envelope that kids can do! I'm HORRIBLE with origami, so I hope you are not expecting that! HA!

I looked on Google for EASY ways to make an envelope, and I found soooo many options! Most of them were too hard for this teacher :| 

I found this great website where there are many different templates, but I didn't want to go that far at this time, I just wanted simple steps and not having to make copies of the pattern and cut and so on... HOWEVER, if you would like to check it out, please DO! She really has great ideas different websites for different types of envelopes! Click HERE to take you there :)

I also found this picture with steps on how to do an envelope from a heart shape. So I thought it would be cute for students to write a short note on the back of the heart (the blank side), make the envelope, and just glue it with a foam sticker or something that when you open it, you would open the whole letter at once!

Here are my pictures and how my envelope came up :) Not so perfect, but I think it would do the trick...

Then, I found this picture, I thought it was pretty simple and the steps were pretty clear, so I gave it a try.. I am NOT good at any of these things, so believe me if I tell you, if I can do it so can you! I got this picture from Making Friends

I personally skipped the pattern and I tried to skip steps that I saw they were not a big deal. Mine didn't come up as perfect as it shows on the picture (of course, that happens when you skip steps on the instructions! Lol). However, I think for students and the purpose of it, it was pretty good! :)

So along with this cute envelope, I created a Free letter pattern for kids to write a letter to a friend.... I think the best way to do this (so everyone gets a letter and no one gets more than anyone else), might be for them to choose a partner or you can even choose partners randomly!

Can you feel the loveee?? Part I

Hello everyone!
I have been really busy working on a soon-to-be-posted unit for the solar system so these next two posts will be very short and to the point!
I know we are still in January, but I am sure you're probably thinking already about hearts and of course, chocolate! I have to admit, at this point of my pregnancy and how these cravings have been invading my life, I'm actually gonna miss those sweet friends this year!

Anyhow! I just wanted to share with you all some of the units I have created for Valentine's day!

These are Math Centers for 3rd grade: it includes multiplication, measurement, word problems, comparing fractions, and a foldable to create bar graphs and pictographs. Come over my Store to have more details!!

These are Language Art centers for 2nd grade: they include sequence for the story "Froggy's First Kiss", antonyms, and long a vs short a (English only), and suffixes vs prefixes (Spanish only). Come over my Store to have more details!!

Winter Freebies for your projects!

I also have a snowman craft. This is perfect to use along with the book "Snowmen at Night". Honestly, you can use it for anything you want! You will need a contact paper to give that transparent effect. There are some specific directions in the document on how to give this effect to it :)  If you don't want that, I also included a solid circle to it so you can use it too.

Christmas Time with FREEBIES!!! A Linky party come join us!!

Heeeelllloooooooo!!! Anyone there?!?!?! Yessss, I AM HERE!!!!
My friends I am so so sorry you have not seen me lately! I have been very sick and I have not been able to create or do anything besides trying to get better and taking care of my "Pollita."
I have been feeling awful, but a good thing is coming out of this "sickness." We are expecting for the second time! We are thrilled and blessed God has given us the chance to be parents of a second baby! Unfortunately, like my first pregnancy, the nausea and sickness have been the worse and this time, it has been a little bit harder having a toddler at home :(
However, I am here trying to, at least, make a decent post (which is taking me more than one night to finish, by the way)... I would like to share with you some ideas of things I have done in the past and some class gift ideas for your kiddos.


If you are looking for a fun and educative way to decorate your bulletin board for the Holidays, you might want to keep on reading! :) I did this with my kiddos, but I never had the chance to take pictures or make the template. You know during those weeks after Thanksgiving and Christmas you realized they are all gone in a blink of an eye!


You can use this craft for any subject.
Here is a picture of the pretty and blank gift box craft. I just bought the bows from Walmart, because I was not gonna make them myself! For three simple reasons: 1. Who got the time for that? 2. I don't have time for that! and 3. Mostly important, I don't know how to make them. LOL






I used this for Math. Each student would make their own box, but they would work in partners to write the word problem, solve it, illustrate a model that corresponds to the problem, and write their answer in a complete sentence.

Then I thought, how can we turn this craft into some kind of Language Arts??? So, I came up with a writing activity. Students can write about their best gift. You can encourage them to write not only about a toy, but maybe a moment during Christmas they enjoyed the most! After all, Christmas is not only about getting a toy or a gift, it's about the quality times you get to spend with family and/or friends!

A few weeks before our Christmas party we had worked on recycling with my students and we made some recycling construction paper. I intended to use the recycling paper to make Thanksgiving cards, but that never really happened. So we finally got a chance to use the paper! We made small Christmas cards with it and they turned out super cute! :)

Christmas Party Class Gift

The last Christmas Party I had in my class, we watched "The Polar Express" and I gave a couple gifts to my students.
They automatically recognized the box by saying "just like in the movie!" They all loved the little box and I think it turned out super cute! :)

I purchased the mini bows from Wal-Mart.

I made the tickets myself and to make the tickets look more sparkly I bought a spray bottle from Michaels. Here is a picture of the bottle and it is called "Color Shine" and it's basically a spray that gives a sparkly look to the paper... I used the English version since my bilingual students were transitioned into English in 3rd grade, but they I created this in both English and Spanish :) If you would like to download the tickets for FREE, click HERE to take you to my TPT product.
