September Facebook Fan Freebies Journals + Dual Program CHAMPS posters

I know everyone is posting this on their blog or Facebook, but I really survived my first week of school! I keep forgetting every year how much tired I get on the first week! I keep telling my kids that the first week is crazyyy!!! ;)
I love my 40 students! They are all eager to learn new things in class and they are so used to me that my rules and procedures have been just a review for them :) I also have many new students, but they are so great, too! :)

Alright friends!!! I know I have been saying "more freebies coming soon! stay tuned!" So I finally created my fan freebie folder on Facebook :)
I decided to post a Facebook Freebie every 1st Friday of every month :) I did not want to be posting some on Facebook and some on my TPT.. so that's why I came up with the idea of "1st Friday Fan Freebie". However, know that my Facebook freebie WILL NOT be available on my TPT, so I really hope you come join me for some fun :)

To "like" my page, first go to my Facebook; you can click on my Facebook icon on the right; then, "like" on my page. I have attached some pictures, hoping that will help you :)

Once you like my page, click on "1st Friday Fan Freebie" icon and it will take you to my share Folder in  Google Docs :)

What's in it so far?
Since I just created my folder, I went ahead and I uploaded the first document for the month of September :)

I have created 5 different journal covers: science, math, writing, poetry, and reading. All these 5 covers are also in Spanish! :) There are a total of 15 pages!!!

On the science journal, I added a picture on their front cover. I had a lab coat, goggles, and a magnifier and I dressed up my students. Some of them were cool to do funny faces, and some of them were cool just posing to the camera :)
These are some examples:

I think they all turned out so cute! :) And most important, all my students had a GREAT time posing with their outfits on :)

I have also created a new product on my TPT :) I created 5 CHAMPS POSTERS in both English and Spanish. I had a friend that is part of the Dual Program at my school (We have just started this year with grade K and 1), so she asked me to create color coded posters to go along with her class. Click HERE to take you to my TPT :)
Here is a peek of how the posters look like :)

Although I won't be using these myself this year, I think it's a great idea to start building some products with ahead of time. The Dual Program will keep moving forward every year, which means 2nd grade will be the next grade to be part of this great program :)

Thank you all for keep reading my blog and for following me :) I will be working on new units and new freebies for the next days so stay tuned! :)

Have a great and restful Labor Day weekend! :)

Classroom Tour Jungle Theme Part 2, Meet the Teacher Night Goodies (FREEBIE)

Hello!!! :)
Are you guys dragging out of bed or drinking a lot of coffee like I am?! OMG! I forgot how exhausting is to prepare for a new school year :( I have been dreaming the past nights about school and I have been keeping a list of "to do" by my night stand :( I still have lot of things to do, but I know everything will get done :)
I promised I was going to post more pictures about my classroom, so here we go! :)

The next pictures are about my name tables. I have created a Jungle Theme on my TPT with different name tables like elephants, monkeys, zebras, etc. However, I decided not to use those since I am getting my kids from last year and I had those name tables before :) So I decided to go with monkeys :)

Here are a closer imagine of my signs. I used scrapbooking paper and I got the letters from my new Cricut machine! :) I think I am in love with that machine...

I am also finished with my teacher's toolbox! I did not want to post anything unless I had pictures :) So here are some pictures from my desk and area...
I didn't spray paint my toolbox, I went to Home Depot to purchase it, and they already had it in gray and I just like it that way:) It did not take me that long to finish my toolbox, I made a plain label PDF document and once I typed all my stuff, I was able to put it together in about 30 minutes.
If you would like a copy of my Teacher's toolbox, I have the EDITABLE document for FREE on my TPT store; click HERE.

I was able to finish all this before Meet the Teacher Night! :) I got to see most of my kids from last year, and they look so tall now! They don't look like second graders anymore (duh! maybe because they are NOT, they are third graders!). On that night I was able to give my contact info cards :) I place magnetic tape strips on the back so parents can keep it on their fridge.
I created one that match my theme:

I had created a DIFFERENT and FREE contact info card on my TPT, if you would like to grab it, go to my post HERE.

I was not able to give the Animal Cracker snacks on that night, but these are ready for my kids to have on the first day of school.
I have created the labels myself, I created labels for grades K-5... If you would like to have the FREE copy, click HERE

Well ladies, it is time to say goodnight! :) I hope you find my FREEBIES helpful and fun for your class!! I will be blogging on Friday or Saturday about letters that I am planning to send to parents and Math/Science Journals :)
I know I keep saying I will add my Freebie Fan Folder on Facebook, but I just have not had the time to do so, YET. I am hoping to have news about that by Friday or Saturday :) Stay Tuned! :)

Have an awesome first day of school for those that start tomorrow like me! :)

Classroom Tour Jungle Theme - Part I

Hey everyone!! :)
Well, I have to admit it has been a long and busy week!! We just got back from South Padre Island last week and I still have to finish some details in my classroom (I know, I've tried to stop being such a perfectionist.. but it's so hard!!!)
I've tried having every single detail done in my classroom so I can show you all what I've done, but I haven't been able and I definitively don't want to keep postponing this post... So you might see some more pictures of some of other things I have in my classroom very soon...

So here we go:

1. The outside:
The first thing you will see before entering my classroom is my precious door!! I got the idea from The Clutter Free Classroom... I just loved the door! However, after analyzing my budget, there was no way I was going to buy four or five rolls of paper.. so I chose to buy scrapbooking paper from Hobby Lobby.. They were 29 cents a piece, so it was cheap!! Was it a little bit of work?, sure it was! But I have to admit, my door is my favorite part of my room!! :)

I also made a "Wild Work" Bulletin board, which I will mainly use to recognize those students that have done the best job and these will be hang on this board :)

My other board is that one that I'll be covering up or changing though the year :)

2. The inside:
This is how my room looks like from the door :) If you see the ceiling, yes.. you will see rope hanging from there! :) I have added my monkey cut outs, but I haven't made my table signs yet... so that's something I will be posting by the end of this week :)

My desk and my small group table is in the back of my room. If you look carefully you can see that I got a teacher's toolbox inside my black bookshelf. However, I have not finished my tags (which I am planning to finish by the end of this week) and that's why I didn't want to take more pictures of that area. Instead I have included a picture of my two signs... My husband gave me the snow sign as a gift on my first year, and I can't see myself putting it away even when it's 100F outside ;) A very talented and crafty friend made me the pencil as a new school year gift and I just love it!! :)

I have also repaint and decorate my table bins... The bins were purchased at Dollar Tree and looked like this:

At the beginning, I didn't mind the color because it was part of my classroom colors. However, as time passed by, I just couldn't handle seeing them just plain and not matching my theme. I told you I am very "everything must match the theme" kinda person ;)

So I covered these bins with Duck Tape (I think I am starting to love this tape), painted the inside with black spray paint and color the borders/edges with black sharpie... Yes, I know I could have just painted all with spray paint, but I didn't want to use so much spray paint just to paint the borders/edges... I have to admit, I am not very good OR patient to spray paint stuff ;)
Anyways, this is how my bins ended up looking :)

3. Areas of the inside:
As soon as you look to your right, you can see my carpet and the main white board I use in my classroom.

This is my most favorite bookshelf! When  I was student teaching, my mentor let me have this bookshelf... Now she's back teaching, but she let me have it!! So this is my baby :) It takes wall space, but it sure is worth the space :) I keep all my most common materials here :)
Notice there is only a box with a label :( I am not done labeling my boxes, but it will get done... :)

On my white board I keep my objectives and the day's date. I also keep a cardboard using CHAMPS.

Next to this board a have a small shelf where I keep this little flashcard container. Inside this container I keep all my numbers and pieces of my CHAMPS board :)

This is the view of my classroom if you were sitting at my desk :)

When you walk into my classroom, on the left side or wall you will find my calendar board. I am not really sure what I will add to this board, but most likely I will add my jobs board to this board. The calendar was originally lime green, but I just added some Duck Tape to the borders to make it more Jungle looking. I told you that Duck Tape is amazing!!!

Last but not least, the past teacher left me that shelf that I knew I was going to find a purpose for it ;) I keep all my long construction paper there and other materials for students to have access. I usually let them go to my tall material bookshelf, but I thought keeping these more accessible might be a good idea :)

I think that is it for tonight ladies!! :)
I still have a to do list to finish before and after Meet the Teacher Night! :)
I will be posting some freebies as well, so stay tuned!!
